Event
The event's own title, not the venue name.
Use the offset in effect on the event date (daylight saving time changes it).
When an event moves, keep the original start date and location until you know the new ones.
Google asks for 16x9, 4x3 and 1x1 images, at least 720 px wide.
Venue
Google event results need a physical place with an address. Online-only events are not supported.
Two letters: US, CA, GB.
Tickets (optional)
0 for a free event. Include fees.
Organizer and performers (optional)
* Required by Google for this rich result.

How to use the event schema generator
- Name the event and set the dates. Pick the time zone offset that applies on the event date.
- Add the venue and its full address. Google's event results need a physical location.
- Fill in tickets, organizer and performers if you have them.
- Copy the code to the event's own page. Google wants a separate page, with its own URL, for each event.
- Check the published page in our schema markup validator.

eventStatus | Recommended | Scheduled, Rescheduled, Postponed or Cancelled |

Dates and time zones
A start time without an offset is read in Google's own time zone, so an event at 10 a.m. in Chicago can show up at the wrong hour. The generator adds the offset you select. Daylight saving time changes it: Chicago is UTC−5 in summer and UTC−6 in winter, so pick the one in effect on the event date.
For an all-day event or one with no fixed time yet, a date alone (2026-11-14) is allowed.
When plans change
| What happened | Status | Dates |
|---|---|---|
| New date not known yet | Postponed | Keep the original start date |
| Moved to a new date | Rescheduled | New start date; keep the old one in previousStartDate |
| Called off | Cancelled | Leave the dates as they were |
Don't delete the markup when an event is cancelled: the status tells Google and searchers it isn't happening.
Tickets
- Price is the lowest available price, with fees included. Use
0for a free event. - Currency is a three-letter code, such as
USD. - Availability: on sale, sold out or pre-sale. Leave it out if tickets aren't on sale yet.
- URL goes to the page where people can buy tickets for this specific event.
Common mistakes
- Venue name in the event name, like Chicago Training Center. The event name is what happens; the venue goes in
location. - Online-only events. Google's event results need a physical place. Markup for a webinar is valid but won't appear in event results.
- One Event for several performances. A show that runs on several days with separate tickets needs a separate Event for each performance. One event that spans several days is a single Event with a start and an end date.
- Markup on a schedule page. Google's event results work with pages about a single event, each at its own URL. Mark up the event pages, not the calendar that lists them.
Running workshops or open houses to bring in local customers? Event markup is one part of local SEO.
Event Schema FAQ
Three things: the event name, a startDate and a location that is a place with an address. Description, end date, images, tickets, organizer and performers are recommended.
Google's event results need a physical location. An online-only event can still carry Event markup, but it won't appear in Google's event experience.
Set the status to Postponed and keep the original start date until the new date is known. When it is, change the status to Rescheduled and update the start date. For a cancelled event, set Cancelled and leave the dates as they were.
Without an offset, Google reads the time in its own time zone and may show the wrong start time. Pick the offset in effect on the event date: daylight saving time changes it.
